# Not Submitting? Card Storage & Care Guide

Not every card needs to go to PSA. Plenty are keepers — pieces you want in the collection, not sitting in a submission queue. Here's how to store one properly so it's still in the same shape in twenty years.

## Storage Tips

- Keep sleeved and toploaded (or one-touched) cards stored upright in a box — not stacked flat under weight for long periods.
- Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Avoid attics, basements, and anywhere that gets direct sunlight or big temperature swings.
- Avoid PVC-based sleeves or pages for long-term storage — PVC can react with card stock over years and cause damage.
- Handle cards by the edges only, with clean, dry hands. It sounds obvious until you watch someone thumb through a stack barehanded.
- Want to actually display it instead of boxing it away? A UV-protective case protects it from sunlight fading without hiding it in a drawer.
